FOUNDATION FOR TRAINING
Sustainable, wholesome and integrative for the health of one’s whole being.
Historically, our bodies were designed to gather food and protect ourselves for our own survival. Movements such as pulling, pushing, throwing, leaping, hanging, lifting objects, digging, sprinting, crawling, climbing and squatting were performed throughout the day ensuring a healthy body.
We now live in a modern world where these actions are no longer needed at the same level or intensity they once were. In order to sustain a healthy musculoskeletal body, we have to simulate the movements and train to perform them efficiently. This provides the foundation for my approach to training.
Each workout aims to establish mind-to-muscle pathways, body awareness and full body connection. They integrate breathing techniques, improve human movement patterns and general athleticism.
ABOUT LANE
Oakland born. Auckland raised. Melbourne based.
I had a super athletic & holistic youth. I participated in every sport possible, and was raised around Yogis, dancers, and holistic health practitioners.
I got the taste for travel & adventure, and just like my old man, I found myself in Brazil immersed in Capoeira Angola (a Brazilian martial art/dance). This ignited my passion for physical expression and the art of movement.
In more recent years Pilates, functional conditioning, calisthenics, Brazillian Jiu-Jitsu and wrestling have joined my focal interests in movement.
I am enamoured with physical movement and am in awe of the body’s capacity to strengthen, heal and transform itself through healthy, natural and educated practices.
The culmination of training different physical modalities, studying the musculoskeletal system and the inevitable experience of injury through sports, shapes my ability to educate and support others.
